Washington (CNN)Recent controversies over the certification of the Equal Rights Amendment and improper record-keeping of Trump-era documents have pushed the nation's chief archivist, whose typical pro forma responsibilities render him unknown to all but the most knowledgeable Washingtonians, into the middle of several high-profile political dramas.

David Ferriero, who's set to retire in April, has been the head of the National Archives and Records Administration since 2009, where his duties typically entail overseeing the agency's three dozen facilities around the US that hold more than 13 billion pages of documents. His role is also to formally add amendments to the US Constitution -- which hasn't been put to use during his tenure, as the Constitution hasn't been amended since 1992.

Will the next Archivist ram the expired, illegitimate, ERA Amendment into the Constitution? Don’t be surprised if he/she/it does it.

So let me get this right.

Trump handled all those document and said, “Hey I want this
one. And I want that one. Hey I want all those over there
too. Psst, don’t tell anyone. Okay, let’s go. Bring all
those boxes!” /s

I’m sure he’s been pouring over all those documents late at
night thinking, “Oh I’m so glad I took that one. Oh those
too...” .s

Do these people even think before they make accusations
like this?

How would Trump know he had Top Secret documents unless
someone told him. He could go a decade and not know.

I’m so sick of these GOTCHA moments!

All together now!

“Trump is done for now! This is it. He’ll never get out
of this!”

Chumps...

Since 2009, eh? Some dimwitted Kenyan must have called in a favor. Trump isn't stupid, he isn't going to do anything that would play into the hands of the harassing Marxists.

As President, Trump had the indisputable right to declassify any documents he wanted just by saying so.

Yes, who would President Trump have to ask for permission to take documents home? What unelected bureaucrat gets to tell the President ‘no’ in such a matter?

That may well be the case, but he is still a vicious racist and homophobe. So we can set aside that fact and prosecute him for all those documents and put him and his whole family in prison until they DIE, DIE, DIE!

Oh, yes. His pets, too! (/Democrat)

Pets? You said pets? Little Rubio has got this in hand. The COMPETES act, passed by the House, has an amendment that bans all pets - minus cats, dogs and farm animals - from transport within the country and between the states. There are a few exempt species, those sold by Central Pet. He has created a White List of about 25 species of animals allowed to be transported. ALL the rest, about 20 thousand, will be banned. Fines and penalties, $25K and 5 years in federal prison. Yes. It is really happening!
And Rubio? He thinks he is a genius. Ignorant twit. Pet lovers will burn him at the stake.

Probably concern about zoonotic diseases and invasive species. Florida citrus farmers are suffering from imported plant diseases and insects, released pets that have become invasive and that devour native wildlife and so on. Not unlike concern about transporting unvetted/illegals all over the country risking disease and crime.

Invasive species are largely the fault of government releasing invasives to mitigate problems caused by invasives. These are problems caused by the very government that now seeks to destroy vast industry as penance for their arrogance.
It is especially disturbing that such a draconian fix could be proposed by a Senator who represents the very interests he seeks to destroy.
The pet industry is not at fault for destructive invasive species. Government had its hand in every instance of serious destructive invasive species. Of the 20K species of animal imported into the US less than a dozen have created any serious problem. This is akin to shutting down the entire auto industry to stop auto accidents.
