Biden Administration Announces $55 Billion Gift for Africa

The White House on Monday announced $55 billion in economic aid, health care, and security support for Africa.

President Joe Biden hosted a meeting for African leaders that began on Tuesday, during which the White House promised more details of the massive benefits package would be divulged.

“Working closely with Congress, the U.S. will commit $55 billion to Africa over the course of the next three years across a wide range of sectors to tackle the core challenges of our time,” White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters on Monday.

Yep. I once read an article about a group of tourists who had visited a town in central Africa. The town had no electricity, but was near a large waterfall. An engineer in the group realized that a turbine placed under the waterfall would generate enough electricity for the entire town.

So the group raised money for a turbine. It never made it to the town. From the moment the turbine landed on the coast, local officials were demanding “transit fees” (bribes) to let the turbine pass.

The group payed the first fee. And then they paid another fee a little further down the road. Etc. Eventually the group ran out of money. The turbine was abandoned on the side of a road.

There is a huge expense which Americans don't see and which the federal government will not talk about, and that's the expense of taking care of the border crossing illegal aliens. That expense is in the many trillions for around 10 years. That dwarfs the massive Covid and phony-named "inflation reduction act".
