Governor Ron DeSantis signs legislation to ban a federally adopted central bank digital currency.
DeSantis was joined by Commissioner Wilton Simpson and President Kathleen Passidomo at Southwest Florida Public Service Academy at Fort Myers Technical College.
Governor Ron DeSantis announced comprehensive legislation to protect Floridians from the Biden administration’s weaponization of the financial sector through a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).
The legislative proposal protects consumers and businesses from a federally controlled CBDC by:
Expressly prohibiting the use of a federally adopted Central Bank Digital Currency as money within Florida’s Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). Instituting protections against a central global currency by prohibiting any CBDC issued by a foreign reserve or foreign sanctioned central bank. Calling on likeminded states to join Florida in adopting similar prohibitions within their respective Commercial Codes to fight back against this concept nationwide.

huge. thank God for Gov. Ron.
DeSantis needs to run for President of the Florida Republic.
Good move.
If he somehow manages to win the nomination instead of Donald Trump, I bet governor DeSantis will make an excellent president, better than senile Brandon anyways.
Love it!
Is the Lt. Governor anywhere as sharp as DeSantis? Ready to take over when Ron becomes President in 2028?
A dead cat would be better than Brandon.
He’s my new new hero of the day/week/month!
Amen. He seems to know what a cashless, sovereign digital currency will do to freedoms, especially by an immoral, authoritarian government.
Problem is what happens down the road? If/ when demographics change and we are saddled with authoritarian politicians, laws will change. I can easily see the next financial crisis will be met by promises from government cashless, digital system will SAVE your 401k, pension and retirement. We will have everyone rushing to it quicker than those that ran to the in effective, dangerous Covid jabs, mandates and shutdowns.
Satan knows well man’s lust for money, and when the Biblically ignorant are faced with losing all their money- they will comply like sheep going to the slaughter. FEAR ( like Covid) will rule the day.
Biblical prophecy is inerrant - we may be able slow down a cashless system, but it will be “ made so” by the vast majority of unbelievers and lukewarm Christians.
Fantastic. Finally someone making the right decisions on the CBDC issue, unlike previous administrations.
Pay in cash when possible.
Not that a state government can actually do anything about that. Businesses can take payment however they want, so long as they “convert” it to dollars for tax forms the government won’t even know. Much less be able to stop it.
agree, but words do matter. that is why the left acquired the press. and as a wise man once said, the pen is mightier than the sword. let’s hope DeSantis has started something with his.
Yes, for another 20 months!
Good for Ron, but I fail to see how Florida can stop a Federale Central Bank Digital Currency from coming to Florida. Or being used in Florida, if people want to use it.
I hope so. He or she should be ready, being four years into the governor’s mansion.
In the last week to 10 days, DeSantis has signed bills to ban CBDCs in Florida, the death penalty for child molesters, E-verify immigration reform, constitutional carry, a ban on vaccine mandates for government and private industry, and many more.
Yet, daily we get articles here on FR that basically accuse him for being an establishment fool.
Mike Lindell recently accused DeSantis of rigging the election in 2022 to win reelection by such a wide margin.
}{€££, My 13+ year old Arthritic, Visually Challenged Cane Corso Italian Mastiff would be better than “plugsthediaperhead” !!!
Yet another weekly Great Thing By DeSantis.
