Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Donald Trump's leading rival for the 2024 GOP nomination, said the decision to charge the former president demonstrated political bias in the Biden Justice Department and it's "weaponization" of its police powers.
Trump was indicted Thursday on federal charges involving conspiracy, obstruction, and taking classified documents.
"The weaponization of federal law enforcement represents a mortal threat to a free society," Florida Governor Ron DeSantis stated Thursday. "We have for years witnessed an uneven application of the law depending upon political affiliation. Why so zealous in pursuing Trump yet so passive about Hillary or Hunter?"
DeSantis said his administration "will bring accountability to the DOJ, excise political bias and end weaponization once and for all."
Other GOP candidates made supportive statements, but not all.

This is for all the only Trumpers wrongly demanding to know why RDS was quiet about this latest Trump indictment.

Desantis, do the right thing and drop out of the race now and back Trump. We need you on our side and not the Deep States’ side.

And this came out almost immediately. So give this a break, give DeSantis credit for speaking up. Now, how about every Republican in Congress, ever state governor, and every state legislator? How about them all calling for immediate impeachment of Biden, Harris, Garland, Wray, and so on? Heck, it took only a week, less I think, to most recently impeach Trump, so how about drawing up papers over the weekend and impeaching everyone by the end of next week?

NO! Republicans should carry forward with the campaign, business as usual. But separately everyone must hold Democrats feet to the fire. Otherwise, maybe the party ask all candidates to suspend their respective campaigns to focus on impeaching Democrats.
