A Harvard Business School professor has been placed on leave amid accusations that she fabricated data that underpinned multiple peer-reviewed studies.
Behavioral scientists, including Leif Nelson, analyzed some of the studies co-authored by Harvard professor of business administration Francesca Gino. They found signs that data used in at least three of the studies was fabricated to support the authors’ hypotheses, including data used in a study that has already been retracted.
One of the studies posited that being dishonest could lead to creativity. Participants took part in a virtual coin toss. They could cheat during the coin toss. Participants were then asked to perform two tasks, including saying how newspapers could be used in different ways.
The participants who cheated named more ways a newspaper could be used than those who did not, Gino and her co-authors said.
But the way data from the study was organized suggests fraud, Nelson and others wrote on their blog, DataColada.

For instance, hundreds of health research studies and papers which were published during Covid have now been withdrawn. Those papers were not originally published to provide information as to knowledge learned, but rather were published to push a narrative that the government-directed researchers wanted to promote.

The real crime is that somebody is funding this nonsense.
Could just be me but I wouldn’t give an ivy league grad the time of day. Many rotten apples spoil entire orchards. (surely there are some worthwhile ones)
It’s such a funny story because her fraudulent paper was about studying fraud and she also wrote a book titled “Rebel Talent: Why It Pays to Break the Rules at Work and in Life”.

Thanks. I don’t feel so bad having been a thorn in some folks side back when I was working. Then again I didn’t feel bad at the time. Questioning and taking different approaches and view points. Lucky I was right most of the time. 😂👍

Not to mention the push for “scholars” to publish to prove their worth to academia or else forget any grants/funding for pet projects.
Being proven right when so many else were wrong always seems to have unintended consequences. That must be why so many cowards refuse to speak up when they decided to go along with the herd.

Now that is one issue in which I suspect most, if not all, research supporting the theory that human activity affects the temperature of the planet in sufficient amounts to actually change the climate, is falsified.

Can you imagine paying thousands of dollars to attend a class “taught” by Lori Lightfoot?
A review of her CV shows that she “earned” a Ph.D. in economics and management and an M.S. in economics and management in three years. I wonder how academically rigorous the program was-it sounds like the equivalent of a EdD, a doctorate in education.
