Threads, the soon-to-be-launched app touted by Facebook (now known as Meta) as the “sane” alternative to Elon Musk’s Twitter, will — much like other Facebook apps — collect a dizzying array of details about its users.
Screenshots of the app, which is available for pre-download on the App Store, shows it will collect data on users’ health & fitness, financial information, contact information, user content, browsing history, usage data, diagnostics, purchases, location, contacts, search history, identifiers, sensitive info, and more.
Many other apps, including Twitter, collect data on their users, but Facebook (along with Google) is particularly notorious for it. The tech giant recently settled a class-action data privacy lawsuit in the U.S. for $725 million, and has been condemned by both Democrat and Republican lawmakers for the way it has handled user data in the past.

Threads is instagram with another name.
All your choices are belong to us.
Elon just announced today that content creators on Twitter will be paid with shared ad revenue.
Basically Twitter is going to get the web followers and have content.
“all your data are belong to us”
I regularly receive adverts oddly related to the “private” conversations I have with my lovely wife. We’re contemplating blinking in Morse code to communicate. Not sure that’s a good idea though. We can barely hear each other which is kinda peaceful. Not sure I want to be nose-to-nose having a blinking disagreement.
You’ve been Suckerberged
Meta/Google caught recording your tax return.
No privacy at all.
The penalty should be having H&R Block and Meta/Google pay everyone’s taxes for 3 years.

That data came to Meta through its Pixel code, which the tax firms installed on their websites to gather information on how to improve their own marketing campaigns. In exchange, Meta was able to access the data to write targeted algorithms for its own users.
The program collected information on taxpayers’ filing status, income, refund amounts, names of dependents, approximate federal tax owed, which buttons were clicked on the tax preparers’ websites and the names of text entry forms that the taxpayer navigated, the report states.
Report: Three major tax-prep companies sold the personal finance info of tens of millions of Americans to Meta
If you got your taxes done with H&R Block, TaxAct, or TaxSlayer, there’s a VERY good chance that Mark Zuckerberg now owns the info you input into your tax returns.

Surprise! 🙄
It’s really quite simple - you’re not the customer, you’re the product. Social media platforms are just classic honey-pots. Most miss that important fact.
Not having Twitter, Threads, FB, Instagram accounts or any Siri, Amazon Echo or Alexa devices in my home and a cellphone that rarely leaves the house I’m doing ok but I know the government still has a lot on me.
I’m worried about my Samsung stove and refrigerator WiFi sending my food taste back to Samsung.
Then you’ll get ads for Samuel Morse collector’s plates.
lol
I’m shocked I tell you - shocked. What’s next? He’ll happily work with the FBI, Democrat party, DOJ and the Ministry of Truth?
