One can only imagine what it feels like to testify in front of individuals who decide what does and does not become law in California. To put it into one word: scary.
I have testified before, but this time felt different. On July 11, in front of the California Assembly Committee on Public Safety in support of Senate Bill 14 to make the sex trafficking of children a serious felony, I felt like I was on trial, defending my life and the horrific experiences I have endured that have made me into who I am today. But I did not walk into that room to defend myself. I did it to defend the innocence of every child in the world. This moment was monumental to me.
SB 14 is a collaborative effort between Sen. Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield), the Kern County District Attorney’s Office and myself. If any crime should be a serious felony to keep rightfully punish repeat offenders, it is the trafficking of a minor for sex.
Testifying before the public safety committee about the bill, I spoke about how I was trafficked as a child and sold to the highest bidder. I was told at a very young age that I would be nothing more than a bed for men to lay on. My innocence was taken, and my belief in humanity was stolen from me.
We have an innate responsibility to take care of our children. It is naturally in us to want to help others as human beings. But as I listened to the responses to my testimony, my heart sank. How could they not realize the severity of this issue?

Dessa Perkins has a powerful story to tell. She rose above an abusive childhood to become an advocate and a supporter of others. She is an inspiration and a blessing.
They're politicians. They live for exercising power over the weak. Half of them have either bought a child or wanted to. The other half are protecting them.

So they’re against it with a high moral outrage that only comes from partisan politics and not thinking or listening.
Dessa Perkins was SOLD. That makes her a SLAVE. People ENSLAVED her, and moved her away from her family and made her do what they wanted her to do.
I thought we fought a war against that. I thought black people to this day suffer the trauma of their ancestors. I thought we believed in liberty for all, and have been and a re still being demonized for not having lived up to that ideal.
But these state pols talk about how proportionate punishment for ENSLAVING people might affect certain groups disproportionately.
I am so filled with disgust and contempt for these low-down self-serving politicians. The guillotine 8s too good for them.

What really upsets them about the movie Sound of Freedom is that it hits too close to home.
Child trafficking is SLAVERY.
Why are the Democrats protecting, promoting, and participating in the SLAVE TRADE?

So after initally rejecting the bill, Gavin Newsome, Elon Musk, etc. applied some pressure, and the Dems passed it out of committee.
Guesses: Newsome “explained” the impact of killing the bill on HIS presidential aspirations; Musk’s attention reminds legislators that he could pile on publicity harming THEIR careers; and (The Big One), they have a procedural plan for derailing it later when the spotlight is off.
In today’s society, without God, there is no limit to how far a person can be persuaded to sink. Tbe devil and his workers talk to the mind all the time.. if you listen.
Ya wonder how can anyone harm a child.. a twisted mind and a dead conscience ...
We have 2 choices in our life.. there are 2 ways to live..
Just 2..by choice or by default
People want to do whatever they want..
They dont want to hear about the straight and narrow.

Cuz they tried.
( iirc , they DID, and the outcry was so loud they reinstated them and tried to pass it off as if they were increasing the punishments. )
