Considering the number of shootings in Chicago every weekend, why is this even news?
That was suicide by Cop.
The Cop is lucky she did not hit the child behind the assailant. I saw that her partner had a gun out too. The man was going to get shot by one of them.
The most reasonable choice was to fire on the man who was attacking them. He was a credible and immediate threat to the woman even if he had been unarmed. And he did his best to appear armed.
It does not ever pay to fight with Cops.
THE ONLY guilt I will worry about is if I miss my target.

I think you are right. “SHE” didn’t have much choice”. A 200+ pound male cop in excellent physical condition would have had choices not only because of his superior physical strength (over the female cop) but because he would not have been scared of a scrawny little guy like this holding a pen in his hand.
Women cops have a useful place on a police force. But, they should not be front line street cops and they will continue to shoot and kill when threatened because “they have no choice”.
This incident will blown into another white cop/black guy incident. Professional race pimps will start running their mouths and this incident will cost Denver taxpayers millions.

Well in this case, the idiot went from middle of the street with at least two or three officers giving him orders. He ignored them, quickly moved towards an officer, then YES, DROP THE FOOL!
Did the video look like this guy was F-ed up on something, YES IT DID.

YES I DO. If I am in fear for my life, it’s self-defense.
A lunge could be a simple threat or a deadly threat. However, I know that a single 45 at center of mass usually eliminates all threats real or fake.
Was the threat Real or Fake? Are you willing to bet your life on that call?
