Correct. Up until the mid-20th century, Palestinian referred to Jews living in the Israel region. Lots of references from late 1800's of Jews being called Palestinians, as Jews pushed for statehood. After Israel became a state, the Arabs in the surrounding area stole the "Palestinian" name for themselves, to try to justify their desire to exterminate the Jews who developed the rocky desert lands, and steal the land for Arabs. Jews have always had a presence there for thousands of years, not so for the nomadic Arabs that came later.
Academic question here, why do people say there is no Palestine or Palestinians? I found a greek map called Palestinae dated 410. Thanks, and again this is just academic, nothing else.
