The argument remains. On one side are those who credit and feel indebted to President Biden and his administration for the unbridled moral support and the massive military aid, worth millions of dollars, the U.S. is giving to Israel to assist in our war against Hamas (and Hezb’allah).
On the other side, the position is that if this administration had been much tougher with Iran from the outset, actually maintaining the policy toward Iran during the Trump administration, the October 7 attack by Hamas on Israel would never have happened.
The Biden administration’s conciliatory gestures and language further empowered Iran, leading to Hamas’s invasion of southern Israel. This surprise incursion was one of Iran’s tactics to weaken Israel over time through sporadic attacks by its proxies, including Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezb’allah, and even Yemen. If not for Biden’s efforts to placate Iran, goes this argument, all the people murdered in that attack would be alive today. All the hostages taken would be home with their loved ones and friends.
This debate will go on for a long time, I’m sure. However, I want to relate to the President’s Oval Office speech. In it, President Biden revealed his continuing misunderstanding of the Middle Eastern mind and culture, particularly that of Islamism.
How so? Yes, he called Hamas “pure evil,” but like many liberals, he will not allow himself to admit that most Palestinians in Gaza and Judea and Samaria (the “West Bank”) are supporters of Hamas.
Why is this reality so widely denied? I think for two reasons:
1. To recognize this is too painful for liberals; it threatens hope for an eventual peaceful resolution to the conflict.
2. Because denying it creates a practical dilemma. What position, what action, should Israel (and the democratic world) take vis-à-vis people

All of it.
How much of Gaza is Hamas?
Way too much. Whatever the number that is the number to eradicate with extreme prejudice
Wars have been devastating civilian populations for many centuries. The Thirty Years War (1618-1648) is a classic example, but it goes back much farther than that. In WWII, Germany bombed London in the blitz and killed over 40,000 civilians. The Allies later bombed Germany (and Japan) and caused massive causalities. That’s war.
Somehow, in our Modern Age we have decided that civilians must not be killed. Only soldiers. And then (it sometimes appears) if we know — if we KNOW — the soldier is guilty of crimes. Rule Of Engagement. Don’t kill indiscriminately. Make sure — make SURE — that the guy deserved to be killed.
My God. Do we want to lose every war? Just kill people. Just bring Hell. Make them regret ever causing an ounce of distress. That’s how Peace becomes accepted as a good idea.
Fixed it.
For those who still want to believe that most Gazans are innocent victims of a Hamas controlled regime, If you, too, wish to deny this, then I recommend you read the following links and articles:

War is the remedy that our enemies have chosen, and I say let us give them all they want.
William Tecumseh Sherman
That presumes that Biden understands anything beyond vanilla and chocolate pudding.
The dynamic here is the Islamist Obama clique, acting to subvert America's Christian interests in favor of the world-wide Caliphate they dream of.
100%. Even the children will be future terrorists.
This article hits the nail on the head.
The de-facto country of Gaza attacked Israel in a ghastly act of war. As is usually the case, most of the population supports its government. Choices have consequences.
Palestinian = Hamas = Islamic Cult = Terrorists.
The West haven't fought an actual war since World War II. Every conflict since then was a "police action".

A Palestinian man celebrates on the streets of Gaza as Hamas fires rockets over his head toward Israel.
Soon after, he posts a video of himself crying in a hospital after an Israeli airstrike

ALL OF IT PLUS INNER CITY BLACKS!
There are no civilians in Gaza - the residents voted them in overwhelmingly. They all want the same thing - no Israel, no living Jews.
You left out the “EVIL” part!
How much of 1939 Germany was “Nazi”?
Hamas is the government of Gaza. If 1939 Germany was “Nazi Germany”, then 2023 Gaza is “Hamazi Gaza”.
Haven’t won any of them, either!
When I was ship’s Company in USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63), the ship’s motto was “Fly, Fight, Win.”
FRicking pansy-ass WDC politicians let us fly, fight, and die, but we were not allowed to win!
Of course, the US has actually fought a number of wars since World War II, whether we officially call them wars or not.
However, Hamas, which is the government of Gaza, has declared that it is actually at war with Israel. In fact, destroying Israel is its foundational reason for being.
