TEL AVIV — Israel’s ferocious bombardment of the Gaza Strip will create an incubator for a new generation of terrorists, some extremism experts say, as thousands of young people who have lost families and homes risk being radicalized by the war and its likely chaotic aftermath.

Israel says it wants to destroy Hamas, the terrorist group that carried out the massacre of more than 1,400 people and the kidnappings of 240 others on Oct. 7, according to official estimates. But Israel’s retaliatory bombing campaign has killed thousands of civilians, many of them women and children; reduced swaths of the tiny, crowded enclave to rubble; and prompted international outcry over the ensuing humanitarian crisis.

Not only have U.S. officials warned that the reaction could inspire attacks on the West, but some experts also say Israel’s retaliation, too, is only likely to beget more violence.

So I guess the “experts” think the solution is to end hostilities. It makes perfect sense to allow terrorists to survive and live to attack Israel another day so that more terrorists are not created that will attack Israel another day. /s

Israel needs to completely destroy Hamas. That eliminates the people, weapons, and the know how to conduct massive terrorist attacks. It eliminates the leadership that finances, plans and coordinates attacks. What comes next is crucial. Terrorists cannot be able to reconstitute in Gaza. That’s the problem that needs to be solved.

1. "Inspire attacks on the West" is a leftist trope used before. It was a stupid rationale then, its a stupid rationale now. Ignore it.
2. 'Officials' also suspect the US will see something bad, due to the non existent southern border. And as insane as it sounds, based on actions over the past 3 years, appear to be eager for it. That’s not fair. You are not allowed to use actual historical fact to make an argument. Here’s another one for you: 2 million Germans were evicted from their homes in Poland and sent to Germany immediately following WWII. The Pols and Russians thought it would be safer that way. And guess what, it worked.

The same can be done with 2.5 million Arabs living in Gaza.

We all knew that this was coming.

"If you kill enough of them, they will stop fighting." A strategy proven successful for thousands of years. Repeatedly demonstrated in that corner of the world too.

"Enough of them" may very well be "all of them".

That works for me. It is no more than what the Palestinians promise to do to the Jews.

And it is not essentially different from what Muslims are directed do to non-Muslims by fundamental tenets of Islam. Enslavement or extermination. It's what they do.

Only in Western cultures is "tolerance" and "multiculturism" considered a virtue. The rest of the world does not subscribe to such theories, though they are perfectly willing to take advantage of people who do.

We are not obliged to commit suicide merely because people from other cultures do not like us.

NBC might have a point. Studies done after WW2 showed that the Allied bombing of Germany did not break German morale. If anything, the opposite happened.

But that doesn’t matter! The main goal of bombing is to destroy factories, railroads, munition dumps, etc. The goal is to destroy the enemy’s ability to wage war.

Completely destroy their ability to wage war, and the morale thing won’t matter. Fail to completely destroy their ability to wage war, and morale will hold steady or even increase.
