Are We Looking at George H.W. Biden?
NY Times ^ | 11/09/2023 | Frank Bruni

Posted on 11/09/2023 7:13:16 AM PST by ChicagoConservative27

When you played second fiddle to a revered, charismatic, transformative president who chose you as his running mate not because you dazzled him but because you dully rounded him out, not because he saw you as the party’s future but because you were a link to its past, can you ever shine as brightly as you deserve to?

When you’ve been in government forever and almost everything about you smacks of tradition, can you beat back complaints that you’re out of touch and sweet-talk voters who are soured on the status quo?

George H.W. Bush, running for a second term more than three decades ago, couldn’t.

Agreed. I have nothing good to say about Bush, but he and Biden are vastly different.

Biden will not be the nominee so he will not lose the second term, most likely Newsom will be

[[When you played second fiddle to a revered, charismatic, transformative president]]

Hard to beleive that people get paid to write drivel like that- must be a big market for fiction

People have no idea what kind of a twisted, lying snake Newsom is.

I keep reading that he won’t be the nominee and that’s why he isn’t really acting like a candidate.
Are the Dems that jaded and blinded by Trump derangement that that have no problem with a different candidate being ported upon them at the last second? At least Bobby Kennedy had the excuse of being murdered as the reason Humphrey was switched on at the convention.

The vote counters will see that it is not the case.

"because you dully rounded him out"

TOTAL BS!   Because you were a former US Ambassador to the UN, former C_A Director, and completely experienced in the assassinations, as President Kennedy was surely but a prime example among more. No dullness there!

Who were John Hinckley's parents set to have dinner with the evening before RWR's assassination attempt? Coinkydink? Never!

Ronaldus Magnus knew he could be the next in the crosshairs any time the DS wanted him gone.

Only comparison is that both were entrenched products of a corrupt government.

Remember how poorly Obama did at the state level?

So many state Houses turned blood red.

Voters who loved him hung his picture on their wall. Songs written about him. It was blasphemous to speak ill of him. The hate was just as strong.

I see Trump as similar.

The former was squishy and ineffective for the most part. Blew the 90% approval rating he had after the Gulf War. The latter was stupid, now has dementia, dishonest as the day is long, and corrupt. Huge difference between the two

Remember the X-30 National Aerospace Plane. It was all about hypersonic research. This POS ended the research. We were well along on the path until then. I was a NASPETEER.
It was all about destroying Reagan’s legacy.

Deserve how? Deserve because you have real capacities and abilities, or deserve because you've been in government for a long time and the Establishment likes you?

George Bush did a good job winding down the Cold War because Reagan set the scene for him. He didn't do that good with the economy or with politics in general. He didn't have the ability and couldn't or wouldn't acquire it.

As president, Joe Biden hasn't shown any real talent and doesn't have any actual accomplishments. Barack Obama picked Biden up from the dustbin, and then Jim Clymer did it again 12 years later. Joe was never going to shine.

Vice Presidents are never picked because they dazzle. They are picked because they are dull enough and the presidents may manage to dazzle in comparison with them.

The question is stupid.
Try again.

Bush was incompetent but he did not hate America
He was a veteran who served honorably.
Joey is just a common criminal.

They try but just can’t sell their novels. So they work at newspapers to hone their story invention skillz.

But, jeez what a simpering today.
