Trump's businesses received millions from foreign entities during his presidency, House report says

Former President Donald Trump's businesses received millions of dollars from foreign entities located in 20 different countries during his presidency, according to a new report released Thursday by Democrats on the House Oversight committee.

The top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, Rep. Jamie Raskin, released the report and provided documents from Trump's former accounting firm that show that 20 governments, including China and Saudi Arabia, paid at least $7.8 million during Trump's presidency to business entities that included Trump International Hotels in Washington, D.C., and Las Vegas, and Trump Towers in New York.

The 156-page report by House Democrats is entitled "White House For Sale."

In the forward to the report, Raskin wrote, "By elevating his personal financial interests and the policy priorities of corrupt foreign powers over the American public interest, former President Trump violated both the clear commands of the Constitution and the careful precedent set and observed by every previous commander in chief."

The reports says that, according to "limited records" obtained by the committee, Saudi Arabia likely paid Trump-owned business at least $615,422 during Trump's first term in office.

"Limited records". "Obtained by the committee" (from whom where these records obtained?) "Saudi Arabia "likely" paid Trump-owned business at least $615,422 during Trump's first term in office."

That's all the "proof" that's fit to speculate about.

He should have donated that money to Planned Parenthood in morons like Raskin’s opinion. Now let’s check out how rich little Jamie has gotten since he’s been in the HOR. I mean, it’s only fair.

He does own hotels and from what I read a lot of that money came from those sources.

This is so incredibly stupid.

Foreigners stayed at Trump hotels - they paid the hotels.

Foreigners bought some Trump properties - they paid for them.

He was allowed to allow his businesses to entertain foreign dignitaries. He just couldn’t keep any profits. Any money left over after costs went to the government, as it was supposed to.

No one accused Raskin of being smart, He and his ilk are trying to soften the blow to FJB.

How does it compare to his foreign receipts from his pre-president years?

Saudi’s et al., paying for hotel rooms and other services is now somehow illegal? Only when it’s Trump, huh?

Since when? Just how low will you stoop ABC?

Trump's tax records have already been scarfed by our government. It should be clear, by comparing pre-Presidential years to Presidential years if there was "unjustified enrichment" by Trump.

Remember the difference between Biden and Trump. Biden never ran a business, whereas Trump did. To consider payments to Trump from foreign customers "bribes" is a hell of a stretch.

IIRC - President Trump divested himself - as required - of all his business interest’s.

And $600K in revenue might be equal to just a few days hotel room and expenses, especially for a Saudi.

I’m sure a great Freeper will know more than I though...

So, was he supposed to close his hotels and put all the maids, cookstaff, managers, waiters, pool cleaners, laundry people, pet sitters, security staff, valets, accountants, groundskeepers, caddies, maintenance men, lawyers, secretaries, sales reps, etc., out of work?
These are all expenses of running hotels and resorts and all legit/legit income for legit services, for which Trump’s been audited, etc.
I don’t think the Biden’s have been providing legit and legal auditable services to any customers, nor have they been reporting the bribes they demand and receive to the IRS. The libs are just trying to play a false moral equivalency beetween Trump’s business enterprises that provide legal services to guests,
... and Biden’s corrupt shakedown schemes.

So what? His children were taking care of the businesses during Trump’s presidency. Did everyone forget that?

"Trump's tax records have already been scarfed by our government."

Of course the government has all the transactions. This is grasping at straws. They're trying to create a narrative where what Trump allegedly did is the same as Biden; which it isn't.
