I was a manager in the cable TV business back then.

The office always had TVs on all over the place—so of course the Challenger mission was on all the TVs.

I was on the floor relaxing with the staff and we all watched in shock together.

Yep. Radios supposedly weren’t allowed in the office so everyone was gathered around mine, including the boss.

Me too. I remember walking into class at Cal Poly SLO that day. The TV was on showing the coverage over and over of the explosion, everyone stunned.
