Daniel Shaver, Mesa, Arizona.
In January 2016, Mesa police Officer Philip Brailsford shot and killed the 26-year-old Shaver after barking conflicting commands at the terrified man in a hotel hallway for several minutes. Bodycam footage later released of the Texas visitor begging for his life before he was shot went viral.
“Daniel Shaver, Mesa, Arizona.”
Yep. The kid and his lady were impaired on alcohol and they knew this before hand from reports coming from the hotel staff before interaction. Yet instead of just making him lay down and stay there, which the kid did do when he was commanded, he made the kid crawl down the hallway 30 feet to him. Several times the kid’s shorts slid off and with automotor reflex habit he reached down and pulled them up without any idea he was even doing it. I think it was the third time he did this natural reaction to his shorts coming off the officer shot him for failure to obey commands. Why not the first time he did it? Why make him crawl all that way towards him? When it would have been safer for everyone for the officer to go to where he commanded the kid to lay down with his hands on his head.
But, he had been drinking It's called socializing.
Perfectly wholesome and legal American pastime.
Brailsford and his seargeant both felt they did nothing wrong.
Daniel Shavers committed no crime, but these POS got away with murder and are proud of it.
Back the blue, until it happens to you.
