Good for her. There’s no reason for a party to be paying any candidate’s legal fees. People didn’t give their money for that.

The RNC shouldn’t pay his legal fees. That’s what PACs are for.

Except that many did exactly that and would do it again. Trump’s legal expenses are the expenses of electing him. If he didn’t run than there would not have been lawfare.

The wild card in this whole conversation is that the RNC is basically broke — and a big reason for this is that grassroots Republican voters (and independents like me) have no interest in supporting a political organization that has given a national platform over the years to insufferable @ssholes like John McCain, Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, and — yes — Nikki Haley.
