Write a simple bill that stops the counting of invaders in EVs. See if it gets 60 votes in the senate.... They might claim to have such a bill, but if they did it would not have enough votes. Maybe Trump can do something if elected.

All of that together means I agree wholeheartedly we should do as ding_dong_daddy_from_dumas suggests. The Republicans should write a bill saying to not count illegals (or in my view even immigrants here legally) in the electoral college ... and make the Dims say why they block it.

A couple of points:

Trump already tried to do something about it for the 2020 census. The deep state and Dim court won that argument.

My reading of the 14th Amendment agrees with you that they should write the bill. I'm just stating my take from the Constitution to back it up. First the text from Amendment 14:

Section 2
Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice-President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such State.

My take:
1) This ended the Connecticut Compromise (counting 3/5ths per slave in the census when determining # of representatives). In other words, count blacks too now that the 13th amendment made them citizens.

2) The "excluding Indians not taxed" seems to exclude the non-citizens.

3) Combine item #2 above with the last sentence (long sentence) saying "But when the right to vote at any election...is denied... to any male inhabitants of such State...the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such State."

4) The 19th Amendment saying one's sex can't keep you from voting among other things means to interpret the 14th Amendment as though it doesn't have the word "male". So instead of "male inhabitants" just use "inhabitants". Same with "male citizens" should be read like "citizens". Likewise with the age 21 stuff being replaced with age 18 due to the 26th Amendment.

All of that added together reads to me like, the portion of people living in the state who are old enough to vote but can't vote, shouldn't have a bearing on the # of representatives for that state (or EC's).

I know it's tradition around here to not read the article, but did you not even read the excerpt? Sen Hagerty did introduce an amendment to do that, and the Dems voted it down.
