Why not look at all entitlements?

If states want entitlement programs, let them fund them and bear the burden.

As we all know, Social Security is not an entitlement.

You pay your SSI taxes your entire working career, therefore you are entitled to SS benefits at your FRA (now age 67 for people born in 1960 and later).

Social Security is indeed an entitlement.
Many confuse entitlement with welfare, or other government taxpayer handouts, that’s incorrect.
You paid into SS, therefore, you are “entitled” to a return on your investment. SS is an entitlement.

SS is an entitlement...if you payed into it you are entitled to it.
not to be confused with individuals who believe they are entitled to other people’s money (OPM).
