These revelations are not good for our foreign policy. Throwing the State Department under the bus will bring repercussions.
I’ve said our Suez Canal moment is around the corner because of the Afghanistan debacle. I hoped it would be a while.
the generals suggested that a look be given to the laws/protocols governing US embassies, protection of US citizens abroad, etc - because apparently State was in charge of some of this (unfortunately, since it was shown to be unrealistic, slow, disorganized, and loathe to coordinate w/DOD) which makes no sense.
