A bill that would prohibit public libraries from banning books or other materials because of topic or content passed the Assembly Education Committee in a 5-1 vote with 1 abstention on Wednesday.

Assembly Bill 1825, authored by Assemblyman Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance), would specifically require the governing board or body of each public library to establish a written policy for the selection of library materials and the use of library materials and facilities. The bill would require the policy to establish that library materials shall not be excluded because of the origin, background, or views of those contributing to the creation of the materials, or because of the topic addressed by the materials or the views or opinions expressed in the materials.

Cool I’m going to write a book on how gender reassignment procedures such as surgery or puberty blockers provided to children is medical malpractice and child abuse. I’ll want my book prominently displayed in the children’s section

So now The Protocols of the Elders of Zion will be in all children’s libraries instead of just Dearborn. And I’ll expect every library to carry my new book on the complete conjugation of every obscene work I know.

I used to ask libraries in various cities and states why they don’t have Soldier of Fortune Magazine, and what if I paid for it.

But I’d bet the same Assembly people are all in favor of ABCNBCCBSPBSCNNMSNBC etc. censoring “misinformation” from conservative sources. See Tagline.

Great idea!

Perhaps someone should write a Nazi or KKK inspired bible. Lets see what happens...

There are videos on youtube showing parents at school committee meetings reading filthy stuff from books available at the school library and being gaveled to order and ordered out of the meeting. Parents throughout the state should be doing that...particularly in major cities. And for that matter,in towns like Beverly Hills,Malibu, etc.

Public libraries are almost obsolete and should be drastically downsized or eliminated. They were essential but now most research can be done via the internet.

But nothing is harder to kill than an existing government program.

I remember rank porn novels sold in book store back rooms 55 years ago. Wonder if they will now allow them in libraries.

“ Public libraries are almost obsolete and should be drastically downsized or eliminated. ”

That’s the dumbest comment I’ve ever read on FR.

A free public library system is one of the few things I want to pay taxes for.

So as usual, their opening gambit is slander and nothing they say can ever be taken at face value.

It's not really "banning" to choose to acquire one book over another or to take sex books off the children's shelf. Because that is what this is about. Using libraries to sexually exploit children.

Good news! That means Little Black Sambo will be returning to the children's section of public libraries.

“In a nutshell, AB 1825 prohibits public libraries from banning books because of the topic or content of the book unless it qualifies as “obscene.””

I hope the last phrase will still allow some books not to be acquired.

I want the url of a website that lists all known and suspected side effects of ‘gender-affirming care.’ The news that came out in last week says that it’s experimental, ignores side effects and causes much harm. Detransitioners need a safe, thorough list of side effects in order to file lawsuits.

Nobody needs to buy a book or magazine for porn these days. It’s all over the internet.
