Some local volunteers did a stream and woods clean up, which is exactly what my neighborhood did fifty years ago.
Conservative, liberal, a good way to come together and make the town better.

I advise friends and associates to use this environmental idiocy to convince their ESG-infected employers to let them work remotely 100% of the time.
I've yet to have someone tell me they WEREN'T successful in this. LOL.

Correct me if I’m wrong. Wasn’t earth day started by a guy who murdered his girlfriend and hid her body in a trunk. Or is that some other ‘holiday’?

Unfortunately, today, Earth Day has little to do with the planet and more to do with far-left agendas meant to increase control over the population.
It was always about this. You'd be naive to have thought otherwise.

You ever see the Washington Mall, after Earth Day? It took two days to pick up all the trash they left behind.

Kwanzaa was started by the Long Beach State professor who killed his gf. I always thought Erf Day was to celebrate Vladimir Lenin’s b-day.

No. You’re thinking of Ira Einhorn, who claimed to have been involved in the founding, but it wasn’t true.

Correct. Ira Einhorn also chose the date of Earth Day because it is the birth date of a certain V. I. Lenin.

I bought my little God daughter an Earth Day t-shirt in the late 1980s.
I’ve since come to regret that.

The way I understood it, it is. If you admire a murderer, it is the day for you.

That’s funny, since Earth Day was originally created over a concern for environmental pollution. (The only thing people thought about ‘Climate Change’, back then was that we’d die in ice, not in fire.)

Yea.
“It is about personal behavior and how it manifests itself in our association with others and also about being considerate in our relationship with the natural world and other sentient beings.
Right out of the Hellenic Culture that both Jews,Muslims and Christian took from and pretty much anybody else around the Near East and Mediterranean.

'Although Einhorn was only the master of ceremonies at the first Earth Day event, he maintains that Earth Day was his idea and that he's responsible for launching it. Understandably, Earth Day's organizers have distanced themselves from his name, citing Gaylord Nelson, an environmental activist and former Wisconsin governor and U.S. senator who died in 2005, as Earth Day's official founder and organizer.
'According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Sen. Gaylord Nelson created Earth Day in the spring of 1970 as a way to bring national awareness to the fact that, at the time, there were no legal or regulatory mechanisms in place to protect the environment. About 20 million participants at various Earth Day events across the U.S. made Earth Day a success, and in December of 1970, Congress authorized the creation of a new federal agency to tackle environmental issues — the EPA.'

Well, we can be assured that the U.S. E.P.A. is a trusted and unbiased source on the foundation of Earth Day. /s
