I’m not a lawyer, but it seems to me that anyone who shares medical information with a social media platform has basically waived any claim they ever had to medical confidentiality.

It would depend on the fine print as to whether Grindr’s Terms of Service came with a provision that allows them to share any information provided by the user. (Whether or not this hypothetical blanket allowance is lawful HIPAA is a separate discussion.)
