Both are notorious spies on their citizens the Chinese are just open about it.
So, both are equivalent in their notorious spying, with good and evil intentions? Are they morally equivalent in their spying? How much have you been affected by the spying of the U.s. vs the Chinese spying. Which do you prefer to spy on you? How much control do you have over any kind of spying? I'd rather have no spying, but, if I had a preference, I wouldn't choose the Chinese. You obviously don't care if the Chinese spy on you or anyone in the U.S.

Are you trying imply the US government has “good intentions” when it spies on it’s citizens?

Neither American Big Tech nor TikTok are good. Red China is a serious external threat to this country, in alliance with Russia, Iran, and North Korea. A foreign owned corporation should not have the same business rights a domestic company has.
That being said, Big Tech has attempted to establish a monopoly over electronic communication, and has engaged in regularly deplatforming or demonetizing conservative content creators and alternative medicine advocates. Facebook, Google, and other tech firms have been working in collusion with the Democrats and the White House. The legal protection that these companies have should be rescinded and treated like other mass media firms. Antitrust laws need to be enforced for a legitimate purpose.
