Two New York representatives are considering a bill that would send “antisemitism monitors” to visit college and university campuses that receive federal funding.
Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) and Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) are set to introduce the College Oversight and Legal Updates Mandating Bias Investigations and Accountability (COLUMBIA) Act, according to Jewish Insider.
Under the bill, the Department of Education would be allowed to send a third-party antisemitism monitor, paid for by the colleges and universities, to university and college campuses that receive funding from the federal government.

I can see all sorts of ways that this could go very wrong.
The statists aren’t missing a beat. Get those government monitors in under the guise of fighting antisemitism...then watch everything they don’t like become antisemitism.
Mission creep from day one.
The one bright spot in this mess has been to remind Jews that they are white people, too. East asians need to heed this as well, because they are next.
Monitors just deflect the accountability to some nebulous committee.

Sounds Orwellian.
It will wind up being exactly that.
Here’s problem #1:
Define “semite” for anti-semitic.

2. a member of a modern people speaking a Semitic language.”
So a lot of Arabs would be protected from anyone including a Jewish person insulting them for being semitic.
There are about 4000 colleges and universities in the country. Give each of those an antisemitism bureaucrat and have one supervisor per 5 employees, add in multiple levels of supervision along with support staff and we can quickly gave ten thousand new Department of Education employees who will get absolutely nothing done.
Good grief.I can now see a whole cadre of monitors. Antisemitism, anti LGBT...., anti climate change and that’s just for starters.
Korean and people from North China are paler than many people of European decent.
I’m all for exposing racists. But it doesn’t take “federal monitors”. Just let them talk on video and the internet. Everyone will know. They expose themselves.
In all seriousness, this is not a joke but it’s also not real. It’s just a threat to universities to cut their crap policies. But I don’t know how we got from “we are all Americans and we love each other and hate racism” to “whitey/jew/zionist scum/reparations/institutional racism” in just a few years. It must be coming from the educational system but colleges are not the source. These idiots are groomed into haters at the K-12 level, and then write papers about it their hate in universities.
If they had anti-white monitors, they would have to close down 90% of classes.
It is Orwellian. But it’s just a threat. This will never happen. They did COLUMBIA on purpose. I like it from a marketing perspective, clever enough to make the point, but absolutely don’t want anything of the sort to be implemented be it Jews, Muslims, Catholics, Evangelicals, Blacks, Asians, Native Americans, Communists, Fascists or any other.
When every abhorrent group engages in bad conduct, government thugs get more jobs and and fresh wings.
So now you know why government grows exponentially and you can’t buy gas and groceries in the same week.
So who’s going to staff these positions, associates of the ADL because of their “expertise” in antisemitism? And how do they intend to define antisemitism, will they conflate anti-Zionism with antisemitism and throw any True Torah Jews in jail? Somehow I don’t see how they’d word the law and not run into issues of one sort or the other. Besides it sounds like a creepy incursion of government. Any real antisemites at the college level aren’t likely to display it overtly anyway so this would be a waste of money. A RINO is co-sponsoring this bill. Just more of the UniParty working together to keep us in line.
