There were millions killed after the left pushed hard enough to get us out of Vietnam and allow the Communists to take over.

Actually the leftist were ignoring the atrocities. Like the 20 000 civilians killed during the Tet offensive. They showed a man being executed by a south VN soldier and presented It as an atrocity, but left out that the guy had executed an entire family in cold blood.
And the leftists ignored the refugees, those dying in reeducation camps, the boat people, and the ethnic cleansing of their Chinese and Hmong minorities.
