Who knew that the Ivy League and other wealthy institutions were taxing you, the American people

Incredibly, it’s a $45 billion largess during the most recent five-year period.

Our auditors at OpenTheBooks.com quantified the federal payments on contracts and grants and special tax treatment of their endowments into the eight schools of the Ivy League plus Stanford University and Northwestern University.

Since 2018, $33 billion of federal contracts and grants flowed to these ten colleges – averaging $6.6 billion annually.

Today, these “educational” non-profits are more federal contractor than they are educator. Their $33 billion in federal contracts and grants outpaced their collection of undergraduate student tuition.

Furthermore, these schools reaped another $12 billion in special tax treatment benefits on the growth of their massive endowment gains (2018-2022). Endowments totaled $237 billion in 2022, up almost $65 billion from $172 billion in 2018.

This is true and the same is true of the Dept of Defense and technology.

This yields the highest survival rates for the 12 most common forms of cancer and is also why the head of Canada health came to Mayo, NY for cancer treatment.

It is an atom bomb awaiting mankind.

Northern and Western Europe and others contribute so little compared to the past.

When govt spending on social welfare decimates defense and medical R & D spending here as it has in Europe-mankind’s innovation will be coming to a dead stop.

“These places have turned into giant hedge-funds with leftist schools attached to them.”

This is great line. Good job.
I’ll be using it.

The airlines are not far behind. The fuel hedgers have tons to do with relative performance. At some point in the future, I can def see the passengers as a mere inconvenience.

I spent decades at one Harvard Medical School's largest teaching hospitals. The medical school, and its teaching hospitals, get billions of dollars in research money each year.In fact, when I was there more medical research money flowed into Boston than into any other city on earth.

Some of the money is from private organizations (e.g., The American Cancer Society) and some (much,in fact) is from governments...mainly the US Government.

Of course in recent years a lot of government $$$ has gone to major medical schools for research on "gender affirming care" and other Maoist cr@p. But a lot of it *is* for things like cancer...heart disease...Alzheimer's Disease...and other worthy pursuits.

True, and the portfolio managers of some get away with insider trading.
