Ah Dan. You are forever the curmudgeon. But it is part of your charm.

Having been born into communist slavery, going through communist indoctrination for three years in their school system, chearing for VC victory on their propaganda news channels, does provide me with a different point of view.

Having traveled around the world, everywhere you find the same people, the good, the bad and the ugly.

The only difference is the circumstances people find themselves in. This then leads to success for those who see opportunity and work at it (in the west), or as in the case of the U.S.S.R and Eastern Europe between the end of WWII and the over through of the Berlin Wall the high level of Alcoholism and early death due to the lack of opportunities for the average MAN in Eastern Europe and the U.S.S.R

Pew poll September 22, 2022

Opinions of both terms differ widely by age. While younger adults are more likely than older adults to say they have positive impressions of socialism, the opposite is true for capitalism.

Just 40% of those ages 18 to 29 view capitalism positively; that is the lowest share in any age group and 33 percentage points lower than the share of those 65 and older.

Adults younger than 50 also are more likely than those 50 and older to have a positive impression of socialism (41% vs. 30%).
