I remember doing our Freeper bit to get that guy fired. One of the prouder moments of my life. ð
Now they’re trying to rehabilitate him again?
Worried they can’t win so bring on the big leftists.
old and white is cool now.
Dan Blather is sorry he got caught
F&U Dan Blather.
Let’s not forget it was one of our own that booted Rather......a Freeper.
He’s been involved in the Fani Willis case, lately.
The initial analysis appeared in FR posts by “Buckhead”, a FR username of Harry W. MacDougald, an Atlanta attorney who had worked for conservative groups such as the Federalist Society and the Southeastern Legal Foundation, and who had helped draft the petition to the Arkansas Supreme Court for the disbarment of President Bill Clinton.
MacDougald questioned the validity of the documents on the basis of their typography, writing that the memos were “in a proportionally spaced font, probably Palatino or Times New Roman”, and alleging that this was an anachronism: “I am saying these documents are forgeries, run through a copier for 15 generations to make them look old. This should be pursued aggressively.”
By the following day, questions about the authenticity of the documents were being publicized by the Drudge Report, which linked to the analysis at the Powerline blog in the mid-afternoon, and the story was covered on the website of the magazine The Weekly Standard[62][63] and broke into mass media outlets, including the Associated Press and the major television news networks.
It also was receiving serious attention from conservative writers such as National Review Online’s Jim Geraghty. By the afternoon of September 9, Charles Foster Johnson of Little Green Footballs had posted his attempt to recreate one of the documents using Microsoft Word with the default settings.
The September 9 edition of ABC’s Nightline made mention of the controversy, along with an article on the ABC News website.
Now he can say he is no worse than anybody else.
Funny and almost uncanny how people who are forgotten but not gone are speaking out. Hillary’s eunuch Kaine. Self serving John Dean. Now Dan “What the Frequency, Kenneth” Rather.
He’s probably as daft as Biden. Why bother? Nobody under 40 knows who is or was. Go away, Dan....far away and retire for good.
“What’s the frequency, Kenneth?”
Wow. Eighteen years? I remember listening to Rush the day all hell broke loose re Buckhead on FR. Sitting outside of the Kaiser hospital in Woodland Hills. There are some days you just can’t forget.
Groundhog shows his shadow: at least 6 more years of treasury printing.
Dumb-ass Dan’s next foray into hard-hitting journalism will be a newly discovered document trove where it is proved Trump stole the NYC tower bearing his name from a hard-working family of Palestinians.
Hopefully they’ll send him to Chicago for the Democratic Convention.
Rather can lie and Toobin can get way too excited about it.
Dan had to decide. Punch the time clock and die or go back to pimpin’ liberalism for SeeBS. One was just as bad as the other.
Uncle Walter is calling you to join him, Dan
Walter Cronkite -- The last TV "news" reader who had once been a real journalist. But that was not on TV.
Dan Rather -- The last TV "news" reader to pass as a real journalist. Until he didn't.
The fake Draft Dodging letter was the first time that I saw what has now become ROUTINE for the media, which is to tell lies non-stop (Ukrainian winning, Russian collusion, Serbian atrocities, etc.), get PROVEN WRONG, and then simply walk away like it never happened.
The Russian ‘collusion’ one was the most developed in that the media claimed they had INSIDERS feeding them FACTS - well, one of two things happened: Either the ‘facts’ were flat-out lies, or there were never these ‘insiders’. I lean strongly toward the first - that the media was being fed lies, as trying to stay on message with every network making up different stories (second possibility) simply could not have worked.
And thus that leads to the question of why didn’t the media ‘out’ their sources after being LIED TO??? Seems like a reasonable response from an ANGRY a media that wants to be taken more seriously in the future than, say, Tass reporting on the success of the latest Soviet 5-year plan (while the stores remained empty). But they didn’t...why not?
My theory is the media realizes that they have a base of people, probably half the country (including, apparently, some here) that believe EVERYTHING that the media says...and that’s sufficient for them to have a huge effect on what happens in the US and other Western countries...so they’ve settled on that approach. For example, one could only IMAGINE how the Ukraine War would have gone if the media had instead taken Russia’s side...would have ended in weeks.
