Definitely some good ideas. But it’s not just the police issue. It’s Groomer City’s emphasis on homosexuals and transoids. You cannot build a thriving city on these people. You need families and marriages and kids. Are they willing to rebuke the rainbow lifestyle there? Doubt it.

Agreed, Balaji is very smart but autonomous zones, special economic zones, free trade zones and charter city projects exist throughout the world and have for decades. Having worked on a few of these projects, I will say its often very difficult to get a buy in from both the federal and local governments around the world. Some of the most succesful of these zones are in China, and they are not run on the socialist model.
From the headline, I was prepared for at least some mention of race and ethnicity, but the excerpt sounded entirely political. Guess it makes sense, because he's gonna need all the friends he can find, no matter the color.
The fact that he recognizes the New York Times as the chief enemy, is a plus.
