The Supreme Court on Monday denied a request by Peter Navarro, a former advisor to ex-President Donald Trump, to get out of jail while he appeals his four-month sentence for defying a subpoena from the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
The order rejecting Navarro’s application for release pending appeal stated only that his request was addressed to Justice Neil Gorsuch and referred to the court, which denied it.
Navarro was indicted after refusing to comply with a subpoena from the House select committee probing the events of Jan. 6, 2021, when a violent mob of Trump’s supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol and temporarily delayed the transfer of power to President Joe Biden.
Navarro claimed that the doctrine of executive privilege shielded him from responding to the subpoena. But much of the information sought by the committee was not covered by executive privilege, and Trump did not assert executive privilege in the first place, noted U.S. Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar in a March filing to the Supreme Court.

They’re gonna have to do something spectacular to re-gain their trust with the American people! Corruption is a cancer that has over taken DC!
The cowardly supreme court once again doesn’t lift a finger to stop the legal bullshit happening. They turned a blind eye to the 2020 election, and they’re turning a blind eye to the lawfare and hunting of Trump and anyone associated with him. They haven’t lifted a finger to help the political prisoners who have been locked up for three years in solitary without charges.

As I’ve said before here, the Judiciary is the fundamental problem. They have too much power, which was never given to them. They just asserted it. And they have no accountability, ostensibly because “they shouldn’t have to fear retribution”.
The so-called “President” has admitted to 47 years of violating the Espionage Act by taking and sitting on actual classified documents. Yet nothing will happen to him.
Mr. Navarro makes a principled assertion of Executive Privilege and the judges - all of whom were from the other side until he got to the “Supreme Court” - ignored all of it and imposed draconian penalties on him.
They are nothing but ordinary mortals, just jerks with a liberal arts degree that’s typically worthless and a law degree that’s mildly difficult. None of them should have the kind of power they have. Juries were supposed to moderate them but they skewed the trial process to give themselves massive power over the juries.
It’s time to revamp all of it. Trial by fire was done away with, there is nothing wrong with overhauling what has transpired since the New Deal and the Warren Court.
Knowing how the BOP operates, one can assume he’s in no Club Fed, and he’ll be lucky to get out without being assaulted or worse.
This could be setting up some big whales for later on. Nearly every subpoena from republican house committees are being ignored. It is soon time to give the left a group rate on obstruction charges and keep them in jail pending appeal.

I have to wonder if they have regrets about that, considering what a state our country is in at the moment. It is their fault, really; and, this just gives me the answer that they don't regret it because they are still showing themselves as cowards.
