Race pandering will HURT, not help Trump and neither of the choices you mentioned would 1) bring in never Trumpers 2) more black votes 3)and might just lose some GOPer votes.

Lots of names get thrown around for positions, by everyone; the nominee, family and friends of the nominee, other pols, ad just plain old people.

Time was, when presidential nominees did NOT get to pick the VEEP; that's an extremely RECENT thing and even now, leadership in the party STILL play a role.

And members of Trump's family are even FAR LESS politically astute/aware than he was in 2016, which was surprisingly little!
