Her father was born in Fagatogo, American Samoa, and is a US national not a US citizen. Her father and mother lived in American Samoa when she was born at Leloaloa, American Samoa. Tulsi is a US national.

From on legal site: "American Samoans are considered U.S. nationals, which means they are entitled to some rights and protections under U.S. law, but they are not considered U.S. citizens. American Samoans cannot vote in U.S. elections, run for political office, or serve on a jury."

The status of American Samoans has been a political issue for years and the courts have even held that they are US nationals, not US citizens. Congress has never fixed this.

And maybe she has been naturalized, but that is still NOT a natural born citizen. It would be good of her and others to transparently talk about this, not ignore it as post-Obama not being important.
