Can we now call these HLM (Hamas Lives Matter) Riots???
They’d call them PLM (Palestinian Lives Matter), as Hamas continues to deliberately put Palestinian civilians in harm’s way. Jewish lives in Israel, however, do not matter squat. Being in Israel, I take that personally.
Yaakov Meridor, the founder and one-time head of the Irgun, was caught by the British in the midst of his wife and children, hiding out on a hotel roof (not much rain in summer). Rather than jeopardize the latter, he simply surrendered, and none of his loved ones were hurt. He was transported to prison in, I think, Sudan, from which he and his comrades eventually escaped, walking up the African continent until they reached Israel just in time for the War of Independence.
No such consideration from Hamas for civilians. But somehow the onus of honoring the 4th Geneva Convention never rests on them. Only Israel.
