President Joe Biden is opening the nation’s airports to hundreds of thousands of white collar migrants who want the jobs and careers needed by hard pressed and indebted U.S. graduates.
On April 30, for example, Biden’s pro-migration border chief announced the selection of 120,603 requests by companies, universities, and research centers to import roughly 110,000 white-collar H-1B workers for jobs that would otherwise go to American graduates.

Yes, it is continually driving down the IT market. I’m looking for new work right now and the rates have dropped $20+ per hour in last 4-6 weeks, interviews have dried up. In conversations, places are hiring, but just not Americans, whether grads or experienced workers.

I have no animosity to the folks coming here under H1-B. I do however, wish the domestic educational landscape were different such that it were not necessary.

You give us a clue on why the massive immigration: employers want cheaper and perhaps more motivated talent, and employers influence our politicians.
This is why polls don’t matter. Poling companies behave like it is 1995 and only ask registered voters.
America already brings in 1 million legal immigrants per year. And I can assure everyone that 99% of the country’s high tech companies are staffed with at least 50% foreigners. This is especially true of the department of defense contractors. At the company I work for if you have dark skin and/or English is your second language you have an outstanding chance of being hired.
My boss was recently approached by a legal immigrant who “works” in the company warehouse and was asked, since he’s single, if he would marry the guy’s sister to get her into the country.
I put “works” in parentheses because the guy is lazy and horrible at his job.
It’s a national disgrace.

In 1990 the Santa Clara valley had maybe a few thousand Indian nationals working here. That number is now 250,000 and they even have their own Congressman, the anti-American third world colonizer Ro Khanna.
They dominate the companies (try getting hired at Intel, for example), the schools (san jose state u is now just 13% White), and of course the government here. You’ll note who runs Google, Microsoft and Amazon.
There is no shortage of Ethnic Americans to work these jobs. But they cannot get traction because they now face outright hostility in hiring, on the job ethnic exclusion, and a federal government which continues to treat 1.4B people in South Asia as a “victim minority” and thus extends them privileges and prferences over the native White Americans.
Am in a similar position.

That is BS. First, Americans cannot get into those STEM classes because they are instead given to non-citizens. Second, they can’t get jobs once they do since Indian recruiters at companies hire experienced H1B Indians instead of just-graduated Americans. Third, they hire those Indians at a fraction of the price. Fourth, that Indian is a slave, willing to put up with third-world work terms because the alternative is being fired and returned to cess-pool India.

I am currently trying to hire 2 software developers. I have received about 500 resumes in the past 2 months. 90% of them are Indian and under 30. So it’s hard to find a large pool of non-Indian talent. However, the most qualified by far was a 55-year old white guy. I am making him an offer.

Counter point - the non-wealthy should not be allowed in government since the temptation to become wealthy through corruption is too great. Neither Obama or Biden were wealthy before entering “public service.”
