Legislators Pass Election Bill That Would Favor Democrats in November

But the election bill given final approval by Senate Democrats Thursday on a 35-3 vote, with 18 Republicans voting “present” in protest, would further help Democrats maintain control in the next General Assembly. Under the measure, local political party organizations could no longer appoint candidates to fill out legislative ballots where the party did not field a primary candidate. Current law allows the appointment process within 75 days of the primary.

Changing rules in the middle of an election cycle. If the bill is signed into law by Governor Pritzker, political parties will no longer be permitted to fill vacancies in nomination where no nominees appeared on the primary ballots. The new law would take effect immediately upon its enactment. Big Fix.

Illinois, like Georgia and Michigan, needs to find a way to reduce the influence of its largest city.

I heard it once postulated that no one from big cities should be allowed to vote. They should all be walled off, and no one allowed to enter or exit to vote.

An update: Illinois Governor Jabba Pritzker signed the bill. Reportedly the ink was not yet dry when the fake reformer signed the bill. Then he returned to the dining room to partake of a twelfth serving of roast beast.
