He should not be speaking to the media, not ANYONE from either side of the argument. Does he not understand there are many folks who still want to prosecute him or otherwise harass him through some court somewhere?

In Washington State, if the prosecutor loses the case, his office has to pay the costs of the defendant. (In self defense cases)
It would not apply in this case, because it was a mistrial, but I believe it is a way to add a bit of balance to the power of a prosecutor.
