The Antisemitism Awareness Act directs the Department of Education to use the definition promulgated by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance when enforcing federal anti-discrimination laws.
"Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews," the definition says.
It goes on to define examples of antisemitism, and some of the heated rhetoric heard on college campuses lately would be included.

HR 6090 outsources the definition of “antisemitism” to a German based Non-Government Organization, as well as using their assessment of which specific examples quality.
“For purposes of this Act, the term definition of antisemitism—
(1)means the definition of antisemitism adopted on May 26, 2016, by the IHRA, of which the United States is a member, which definition has been adopted by the Department of State; and
(2)includes the [c]ontemporary examples of antisemitism identified in the IHRA definition.”
