The ex-fiance is understandably shocked, but it seems as if he and the quoted friend don’t have the vocabulary to describe the situation accurately. In many ways, our society treats pre-teen children as if they are mature sexual actors making adult-level decisions - “gay kids,” for example - and these young men seem to have an idea that the little boy was an equal participant in the “affair” rather than a victim of abuse.
It’s hard to say from just a few lines, of course. The ex-fiance is also a victim, and I don’t want to be harsh toward him.
In a previous article that I read about this affair, the woman confessed that she stopped at oral sex because she wanted to preserve the boy’s purity. Sounds like Bill Clinton’s excuse that a BJ is not sex.
