Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a video statement on Sunday insisting that Israel will not agree to Hamas’s demand that it end the war as a condition of a deal to release the remaining Israeli hostages in Gaza.
“Israel has been, and still is, ready for a pause in the fighting in order to free our hostages,” he said. “[But] Israel will not agree to Hamas’s demands, which would mean surrender; it will continue fighting until all of its objectives are achieved.”

One of the reasons that hamas won’t “release the hostages” is that they are likely dead after being abused/tortured.
He’s not appearing to be weak in the matter of the Hamas war. He is still prosecuting this war with great international pressure for him to stop and essentially surrender. Others in his cabinet, such as Gantz, are the weak ones this time. Bibi is showing fortitude in this matter.

It’s strange that I haven’t heard of any Israeli targets at Gaza or deaths since the pro-Palestinian protests erupted on campuses weeks ago. Why is this not news worthy? No updates from Iareal / Gaza for weeks.
Probably because they know they’ll get to kill them in future actions anyway.
They should have killed them instead of taken them as prisoners, since they give away everything with Hamas, plus the idea of spending $$$ for their care for years.
