Top Ukraine Official Warns Russia Could Capture 'Baltics in 7 Days'
Newsweek ^ | May 3, 2024 | Jon Jackson

A senior Ukrainian intelligence official warned about the threat Moscow poses on other nations in Europe, saying "the Russians will take the Baltics in seven days" if allies don't stand up to Russia now.

The comment was made by Major-General Vadym Skibitsky, the deputy head of Ukraine's military intelligence directorate (GUR), during an interview with The Economist published on Thursday.

The alarm has been sounded before about the potential of Russian President Vladimir Putin looking to start conflicts in the Baltic states. Earlier this year, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) wrote that the Russian leader appeared to be making an effort to weaken the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) with rhetoric concerning the Baltics—Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia—that was intended "to set information conditions" for "future escalations." All three of the Baltic countries are members of NATO and the European Union (EU).

Article Five of NATO's founding document states that "an armed attack against one or more" of its member nations "shall be considered an attack against them all."

Those goofy Ukrainians will do or say anything to get other countries to send their kids over there to the meat grinder and involve us in WWIII.

No thanks dude. The Baltics is Europe’s problem and Russia isn’t going after the Baltics any time soon.

Does this mean that The Ukraine could capture the Baltic states in less than seven days?

After all - Russia has the second-best army in the Ukraine...

So how long will it take the Russians to capture Newfoundland? Surely that must be on their agenda.

B. S. Scaremongers.

However, the Russians could get friendlier governments in the long run, if the Baltic people rebel against being sent to Ukraine as cannon fodder.

More of the Russian Derangement Syndrome….invented by our Democrats just before Trumps election. It was long thought to be a non fatal brain disease, but now is proven to be a deadly disease.

I vote to nuke Putin because the Estonians have told us that if we don't hurry up and nuke Puitin Putin will invade Estonia. And the Zeepers tell me that if we nuke Putin he will be to scated to do anything back because we will ruin Russia, and so he won't nuke us back if we nuke him because he is skirt as Poutine gravy on fries should be.

Well, Nuland and her crowd got the world into this mess. I ahve no clue the way out, except print up a few $T more. It doesn't matter because we can't pay it back anyway.

"an armed attack against one or more" of its member nations "shall be considered an attack against them all."

So I have a question about this. Does that mean if a pipsqueek of a former Baltic principality steps on a lions tail to provoke an attack, and the lion attacks are we bound to go kill the lion. Surely part of diplomacy is to restrain those on your side to being reasonable, not that we have grounds there to challenge anyone else

“ Oh Fuxc, we need to send them $400-$500 Billion for sure.”
*******************************************

Absolutely…. because we all (or at least the Newsweak writers and our resident ZEEPERS) know that if Newfoundland falls to the Russians then Prince Edward Island will surely be next.

Baloney. They aren’t going there. This is just Ukraine and the ignoramus Baltics doing their best to get America into the war on the eastern front, playing the role of the Wehrmacht.

Gen. Milley said Russia could take Ukraine in 3 days.

So I guess it will take Russia over twice as long (7 days) to take the Baltics as it did for them to take Ukraine. /rolling eyes

Is that Major General a writer for the Babylon Bee?

No, no way—not even the Babylon Bee would write something that incredibly stupid, unbelievable and absurd!

I’m sure he did not say it with a straight face.
