The ICC has an arrest warrant for Putin over charges that have since been debunked. Now the US is threatening the ICC when it might issue arrest warrants it disagrees with.

If the ICC caves then it will be seen as a tool of the West rather than an unbiased arbiter.

The US is no longer the rule setter for the World. There is no longer a worldwide consensus on right and wrong. International organizations like the ICC and ICJ should probably be disbanded rather than disgraced.

And there’s a lot of our problems both internationally and domestically. Large numbers of Americans think it is perfectly fine to not only let, but require, men in women’s dressing rooms/bathrooms. Or that driving millions of Israelis ‘into the sea’ is ‘wrong’. Or that the unlimited ability to murder babies in the womb is somehow wrong.

But, as far as I know, the US is not threatening the ICC; only a handful of Senators who don’t even have the power to introduce legislation in the Senate.

And what would be wrong with that? The whole idea of an "International Rule of Law" is based on Western culture and Western countries. The ICC has never been and cannot be an "unbiased arbiter" in that respect. It must always favor Western values. That is the whole point of its existence.

Other countries have a different and much older viewpoint. "Laws" are whatever the ruling powers can enforce by men-at-arms.

Whatever.

Your other suggestion is on point. There is not a worldwide consensus on right and wrong. The ICC should simply be abolished, as it cannot work under such conditions.
