Chinese scientists have engineered a virus with parts of Ebola in a lab that killed a group of hamsters.
A team of researchers at Hebei Medical University used a contagious disease of livestock and added a protein found in Ebola, which allows the virus to infect cells and spread throughout the human body.
The group of hamsters that received the lethal injection 'developed severe systemic diseases similar to those observed in human Ebola patients,' including multi-organ failure,' the study shared.
One particularly horrific symptom saw the infected hamsters develop secretions in their eyes, which impaired their vision and scabbed over the surface of the eyeballs
While the experiment may spark fears of another lab leak, the researchers say their goal was to find the right animal models that can safely mimic Ebola symptoms in a lab setting.

Well then. All OK. As long as their motives were good they aren’t responsible for any consequences.
They must be progressives.
How long will this be tolerated before we take out the labs and begin the executions?

If the US finally decides on budget cuts to deal with the deficit I sure hope it doesn’t affect the funds going to this Chinese lab. We gotta have ourselves some super-ebola.

There may be crossover infectability between hamsters and humans. That the test subjects were hamsters doesn’t necessarily infer safety from infection for humans. Just sayin’.
They took a contagious disease of livestock and added a protein found in Ebola. What they have is a mutant strain of that livestock disease. I am guessing that the disease is African Swine Flu, it has caused a lot of problems recently in China.
A little off topic but Ebola never made it to American shores until obama......Zika either for that matter.....think about that.

What the Chinese are seeking is a disease that will not affect Han Chinese.

Absent modern transportation, Ebola usually burns out in a zone limited to 2 or 3 days walking distance for humans. The advent of cars and aircraft extend its reach over oceans.
I’m waiting to see the angry protestors marching and chanting about ‘Hamsters Lives Matter!!”.
Their T-Shirts might confuse the image of a Hamster with the image of a Rat.
I remember early on with Covid, that people who spoke about engineered viruses were ridiculed. No such thing. Well now, it is admitted as fact.
What I find interesting is that nowhere in this article is anything mentioned about possible bio weaponry. A bio weapon is my first concern. China is not our ally.
China was not held responsible in any way for the Covid “leak.” If they dropped bombs there would be a response, but apparently not with viruses. “Accidental leak.”
I believe that humanity is in deep trouble. I see no way this is stopped. Who sets the boundaries?…there are none. If there were, who could enforce them? What perplexes me is the overall lack of concern about this subject.
Genetically altering a virus to infect humans would have no other purpose than biowarfare.
