I am of two minds on the Judges behavior.

On one hand, he could be afraid of Willis and may be reluctant to go against her.

On the other hand, he worked for Willis and knows her pretty well. I've felt he has a pretty good idea of how Fani and Wade are going act and he figures the best way to work the problem is to let Fani and Wade dig their own graves

Seems to be working out that way

It is the safe route. But the real power actors are quietly working to get her GONE and the case tossed on it’s own lack of any merit. Doing so in the least expensive way possible, because people who pled out— may come back for legal fees for false charging and false solicitation of plea. Millions in fact the State is on the hook. Powell being first up to sue for false case.
