The metaphor is apt. We need to remember that the GOP candidate is ALWAYS trailing at this point in the year, sometimes dramatically so. That Trump leads or trials narrowly in so many places is quite remarkable. If the crumbing Connnie’s we’d expect to see New Mexico next, Oregon and Colorado tightening, and in from there

Those two states are always a tease.
Minnesota is a “pretty unique” place (the Dakotas share many characteristics)
many, many good solid Christians who detest the corruption, lies, and anti=Americanism displayed by the current Washington regime
on the other hand, a pretty strong far leftist streak in the DFL (Democratic Farmer Labor Party, essentially an agrarian populist movement with some very strong communistic/socialistic traditions)
combine the two and you get unpredictability
... usually D wins BUT... not necessarily!
appeal to the core honesty and yes, patriotism of the Democratic party base ......and many of them are winnable for Trump
there is also a very strong commitment to fairness (part of the honest ethic)....and the GROSSLY unfair DNC fake prosecutions, slanders, and attempts to interfere with Trump’s campaign....are all STRONG motivators for Minnesotans to vote for him. Very strong motivators indeed.
I think MN may well vote for President Trump now.

I know you are joking, but actually New Mexico, Minnesota, Virginia, and New Hampshire would be the next states to flip to Trump if the numbers started moving in his direction.
better yet, give northern Virginia to DC so they don’t even get a vote or senators!
The problem in Illinos is the Democrats have the advantage of getting close to 100% of the cemetery vote.
