Indeed they did. Hitler never once considered taking Ireland. Quite the chums they were.

To a degree. Ireland was never used as a staging area for Nazi Germany to invade Britain.

Eamon de Valera did absolutely nothing when the Luftwaffe bombed cities on Ireland’s east coast three times in 1941. (The bombs that hit Dublin on 05/31/1941 caused 28 deaths.)
