Democrats may be the dog that caught the car: Charging Trump with 34 felonies leaves the court with no wiggle room whatsoever.

This means if Trump is convicted, the judge will have no choice but to impose an incredibly harsh sentence.

Consider, if Trump is convicted of 34 felonies, offering a lenient sentence such as probation would be prima facie evidence that the case were overcharged, especially if the judge postponed sentencing pending appeal. Find me another person convicted of 34 felonies in a single trial anywhere in the U.S. who wasn’t immediately remanded to prison and…well, find that person first and we’ll discuss it further.

It’s just a big funny game to them. But in a country of 320 million people, there’s going to be someone who doesn’t think it’s quite as funny. I am

The new left always, without fail, overplays its hand.

They seem incapable of learning from this.

Is there any chance at all that if President Trump is convicted in this sham trial, that the sham judge will postpone sentencing pending the outcome of appeals? All appeals? Is that typically done and under what circumstances are sentences postponed, pending exhaustion of appeals?
Not an attorney...

No. The appeal will come after he is sentenced.

The vast indoctrination machine does not teach critical thinking; it teaches extreme anger and dramatic performative response. Subtlety is lost on them because they teach people to be stupid, and the narrative can only be presented to the stupid in the most simplistic terms

I am not sure no matter how he rules he’s not in a lot of danger. So for example he dismissed the entire case for some reason. Do you know how many hard-core leftists would be after this judge? There was a democrat/communist guy who went to the supreme court justices house (Kavenaugh?) with a knife and a rope to kill him.

I just know I would stand far away and cringe every time he starts his car.

Nasty times feel so close.

Think about the word “lawfare”. It’s a play on the word warfare. The Democrats giggle and think it’s fun doing lawfare. In such a big country, it’s a near certainty that there’s somebody else who will take it into another theater of operations. There is nothing so dangerous as an obviously corrupt judicial system. Because when people cannot get relief, they will seek other avenues. It’s been repeated hundreds of times around the world.

Correct. When people think the system is against them or will not help them, they will take matters into their own hands. Ivermectin comes to mind.

The judge is going to insist on completing the court case, and then he’s going to insist that that Trump be found guilty. Then he’s democrats will be able to say that Trump was convicted in a court of law, which is what they’ve been after for many years against Trump. Nothing but guilty will be allowed, even in this sham case.

I wonder, if Bragg is removed or significantly damaged by his anti-Trump actions in the classified documents trial, what effect will that have on the credibility of prosecutors in the other cases?

Exactly. And there is nothing more dangerous than creating the mass impression that the judicial system is completely rigged in favor of one political party. A perception of fairness is why people take rulings against them begrudgingly and accept them.
Take that away, and you have Venezuela or Colombia.

I don't know, it seems to me that they usually get what they want no matter how bad for the country/world.

That’s pretty evident. About the time all this “Trump will be jailed for contempt nonsense,” Democrats in the House were trying to push through legislation that would deny him SS protection if put in jail.

I think even the deep state is finally realizing that the left went too far and they want to extricate themselves from all this crap prior to the election.

Indeed...they really do live in a bubble and think that this is all funny. They believe this is all clever too.

It’s neither and only displays what ugly human beings they really are, without them even realizing it.

They don’t understand how seriously some people will take it.
