Telegony is the belief that the sire first mated to a female will have an influence upon some of that female’s later offspring by another male.

Oh yes there is. The term was coined by Aristotle.

There are several epigenetic modalities, including telegony, microchimerism, and horizontal gene transfer. They are all very hard to study because the effects often work through messenger RNA, and together they call to question genetic determinism.

I've seen papers on heritable traits in stickleback fish developed by simple stress going back to the early 2000s. But just try to get an NIH grant for it. That's been the problem. It cautions against the politics of loose sex, as if we needed a more explicit warning than Unwin's 1934 PhD thesis.
