These warnings are coming rather frequently.

They come from the feds. Are we being set up the bomb?

This is something you can sort of see for yourself.

No need to believe or not the feds.

If the sky where you are is mostly or all clear, look to the north from midnight to 4 AM or later starting midnight Friday night, maybe Saturday and Sunday nights too.

The further north in the USA you are the better, but the northern lights, which are one of the results of solar storms should be interesting.

The more powerful the storm(s) are the further south they are seen.

If we are not lucky, some more things caused by the storms will be some or all of the power grids down, communications poor or gone, etc.

These storms are so big, you can see them if you have eclipse glasses or #14 welding helmet glass.

Or you can make a viewer with a pin hole in a piece of cardboard, focusing on a white piece of paper.

I’ve been observing those sunspots in my telescope, and they are no joke.
The area on the Sun that is covered by that one sunspot cluster is larger than this planet, by far. With the right filter, they should be visible without any magnification. Just make sure it’s the right kind of filter.

Here’s a couple of links:
https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/aurora-30-minute-forecast

https://soho.nascom.nasa.gov/data/realtime/realtime-update.html

In the second link you can see, first image in the second row, a clear image of the sunspot complex (solar continuum image).
