CNN will trust Jake Tapper and Dana Bash with moderating the first presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle.
President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, the presumptive nominees for each of their respective parties, both agreed to two debates — one hosted by CNN on June 27 and another hosted by ABC News in September — earlier on Wednesday.
“CNN Anchors @JakeTapper and @DanaBashCNN will moderate CNN’s Presidential Debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump on June 27 from Atlanta, Georgia. The debate will air live at 9pET on @CNN channels, CNN.com and on CNN Max,” read a statement posted online by CNN.
ABC News has not yet said who it will task with moderating the second scheduled debate on September 10.
Meanwhile, Trump has agreed to a third debate in October that he said would be hosted by Fox News’ Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, but Biden’s team has already indicated that he will not agree to such a forum.

Trump is a fool for agreeing to Biden's rules.
Trump should demand a few minutes in the very beginning to talk about the biased moderators. Call them out before they can say a word.
Trump needs to debate Biden, and separately negotiate to debate Kennedy one-to-one.
Leave Biden completely out of the Trump-Kennedy debate. Biden is irrelevant and Trump needs to make that abundantly clear on the national stage.
A vote for Biden is a thrown-away protest vote.

Tapper also worked for Handgun Control, Inc. (now the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence) in 1997.

Let me get this straight, Biden wont be involved in ANY debate on Fox News, but Trump has to agree to a debate moderated by two left wing loons
Why would Trump even agree to a debate on CNN? OK, I know why - he’s not the incumbent and he needs the debate more than Biden does. But even so, couldn’t they have insisted on something better than CNN? The “moderators” will spend far more time arguing with Trump than Biden will.
The first debate run by CNN, and the second by ABC? Trump would be crazy to agree to that.
Fox is bad enough. CNN and ABC are off the charts Democrat hack stations.
Hell, ABC’s chief political correspondent is George Stephanopoulos, a Clinton stooge.
How’s about letting C-Span runs things? At least Trump would have a fighting chance there.
Trump should agree to answer any question as long as biden answers the same question.
And the questions or the answers can not be about Trump.
