One interesting thing was how they get kidnapped in Mexico and have to pay off ransoms. That’s in addition to $14K they’re paying the coyotes.

Pretty sure this article is crap. The Chinese gov keeps right track of their people, they don’t just decide to get a passport and run around the world as they want. They are allowed to leave for specific reasons and they are tracked.

Yes, but 40,000 isn’t that many. Chicoms can’t stop everyone. This is why they have started these overseas police stations here and all over — to capture escapees or those who turn against CCP.

Indeed, while there may be some spies mixed in, very few of these people are spies. They are indeed fleeing china - for economic reasons. Sending poor peasants who can’t speak English nor function easily in US society is not an efficient use of government espionage services.
